Fruit Smoothie Detox Plan

Pretty frustrated about Holiday weight gain and the fact that, two weeks later, it’s still hanging around. It’s time to bring out the big guns. It’s time for…. the Great Fruit Smoothie Detox Plan!

I need to drop some major pounds before Miami. And I only have a week and a half left! I don’t want to do anything unhealthy and I don’t have a lot of time so I’ve decided on – SMOOTHIES!

Um, problem is, I hate smoothies and have never even successfully had 2 smoothies in a single day, let alone many smoothies and for consecutive days. But a friend going on a similar “detox” has encouraged me to try this out. And another name for the detox could be The Modified Vegan Challenge, because I plan to just use soy protein in the mixes.

I injured my leg a little more seriously than I thought, so the running has come to a halt. And if the running stops, then the diet needs to kick into higher gear. I’ve been having trouble with making good fruit choices and low fat, low sodium meat choices, so smoothies are the way to go. I’m not as tempted to add extra salt and extra fat to a smoothie. Also I really feel that nixing the meat for a while will be a good thing.

Have guests in from out of town now, as we have since the holidays began (hence the massive weight gain) so the detox will begin in a couple days. More updates to come. I’ll pretty much be miserable. It will be interesting to document the process (aka hell).
