Still recuperating. Still annoyed.
One bad thing about not being able to run is that you’re still able to eat. And while those extra strips of bacon every morning and adding piles of cheese to everything is fine when you’re logging the miles, it’s not so fine when you are on doctor’s orders not to run. I thought I could lower my food intake while I waited out this painfully long recuperation period but it turns out I can’t. I need help. I need structure. I need rules. I need… vegan?
It’s only temporary. I can do this for 30 days. I can do anything for 30 days! That’s the theory at least. During this time I will be able to begin “light running exercise.” Hopefully those runs will distract me from the fact that I’m living on soy milk and vegan “chicken” nuggets. The fact is that I have to drop the weight I’ve gained in the past year so that I can dust off the serious runner’s running gear in my closet. If this is what it takes to jump start that plan, so be it.
