Before I begin…

What can I say? I’m laying in bed, convalescing after a recent surgery, eating junk food, and rationalizing my overall pathetic, lazy fatness. But at the same time I’m excited about starting a blog that will hopefully get me up on my feet again and back into my old running shape that seems like such a distant memory. Only other runners know that feeling of self torture you put yourself through for not running, not sticking to a training plan or not accomplishing goals you set out for yourself, even if you have really valid reasons (i.e. surgery). Don’t get me wrong though, I have a million NOT-so-valid reasons for not running too. That’s where this blog comes in. Because is there anything better than beating yourself up, shaming yourself, guilting yourself, and coercing yourself into lacing up and getting out the door? Nope. Not for this runner.

So for all of you out there who are occasional self-loathing running enthusiasts like me, hopefully this blog will give you that extra push you need when you’re sitting around thinking….. I should run.
